Nailed It!

I thought this would be a good place to post a story from June of 2022...
.
For the umpteenth time, I'd like to encourage everyone to keep some type of medical kit with or near them at all times. Even if your medical skills are limited, someone nearby or a friend or family member may be able to assist you using your supplies.

About 2½ hours ago, I shot a 16-penny nail through my arm with a nail gun. Once I had determined that it hadn't gone through the artery, I proceeded to try and pull it out with my Leatherman. It offered quite a bit of resistance to begin with so I thought it may have gone through the bone. I had John Goldin kinda help hold my arm back and I was able to twist the nail just a little to break it loose and it came on out. Although it feels like it may have glanced off the bone, best I can tell it didn't go through it.
I always keep colloidal silver and a couple of insulin syringes in my med kit so drew up a syringe full of CS and fully inserted the needle into the entry and exit hole and put about half the contents in each side and wrapped it up.
I'm sure it's going to be sore tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna live!
After I got it wrapped up, we finished what we were doing and John asked me a couple of times what time it was and he got a kick of me looking at left wrist where my watch used to be (I had taken my watch off so I could get the nail out). So the 2nd time he asked he said, "Here let me fix that" and took his Sharpie and drew a new watch with the correct time on it.
Thanks John! 😂
Pretty damned good shot if I do say so myself!

UPDATE...
OK, here's a quick little update on my Danny Glover impersonation from yesterday...

I shot both holes full of silver again last night before I went to bed and put bandaids on them. I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find very little swelling, almost no redness and not NEARLY as sore as I fully expected!

Again, please, keep good complete 1st aid kits in your home, vehicles and bug-out bags. At the very least, take basic 1st aid class and preferably something a little more advanced. Your life or a loved one's may depend on it!
